Ah, crossovers.

I play Enzo Matrix (backup version) from ReBoot in the LiveJournal-based roleplaying game Milliways, which is one of those Big Honkin' Crossover dealies. (To give you some idea, he's now good friends with Hellboy.) Close to two years ago (as of this submission), he met Danielle Fenton (née Masters), a.k.a. Dani Phantom, and they became best friends. They have now been going steady for the better part of a year.

Awwwwwww.

I "drew" this picture in late 2007, in Flash. It's meant to be Dani's birthday present to Enzo, thus the Hartman/Silver style. (Well, that and I can't pastiche 3D imagery worth a darn.) Dani is aged 12 (physically; chronologically, she's less than a year old) and Enzo is almost 10 (in human age equivalent, although that is where the written numbers overlap, but please don't ask me to explain the system or we could be here all night).

Dang, Enzo's outfit is busy. You'd never see an outfit like that in a real Butch Hartman cartoon.

The age-updated version can be found here.

Wow! You drew that? That is an awesome looking Dani! And Enzo is totally in Butch Hartman style! It looks amazing!

Do you have any interest in drawing Dani some more? If you could do the same awesome job you did here, we could use any pictures you're willing to make at ProjectDP. It's a game I'm making with the help of the Danny Phandom. It'll take awhile to make a whole game, but it'll be worth it when it's done! And if you submit a picture that gets used, your name gets a spot in the credits! Just go to the ProjectDP profile to learn more...

Muahahahaha! I AM THE PASTICHE QUEEN! (Seriously, I have little to no style of my own. Instead, I have everyone else's style. Someone once suggested I take up a career in art forgery...)

Huh! Well, I'll certainly take a look. Are you looking for pixel art or larger pictures? I usually do my DP fanart in vector; it suits the Hartman/Silver style very well.

I actually don't know much at all about art or anything like that. I'm looking at a career in game design. That's why I'm asking other people for art! :-)

I don't want pixel art, though. What I want is exactly like what you've got. I think even that size is just about right. If you're interested, please visit ProjectDP. We just moved there from somewhere else, so it's pretty empty until people start posting...

Thanks!

Roger that.

I can tell you that if it's vector art, size won't matter at all. Vector art is very, very resizable. that's kind of the point. :-)

Cool! I don't know what vector art is, exactly, but it sounds good!
:iconshinyhappygoth:
Vector art is what I used here; basically, where raster (or bitmap) art has to keep track of the colour of each and every pixel, vector art just has to know the endpoints of each line and the equations for the line or curve between said points. Then it fills everything else in based on that. With raster, when you zoom in past full size, the picture gets either pixelated or blurry; with vector, it rerenders the picture based on the same equations and it looks just as clean at any size.

Bear in mind, what you usually do is export the vector art as a raster image file (say, a JPEG), but you can export it at any size you like.

Wow! I'm learning! That is really cool, now I know how to word what I want from everyone! I'll have to make an update, soon. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, are there vector picture files or are all picture files raster?
:iconshinyhappygoth:
Probably not the way you mean. All the most familiar image file formats - GIF, JPEG, BMP, PNG - are raster. The most common vector-based embeddable file format is SWF, which is usually used for movies but can just as easily hold a static image. I honestly don't know what, if anything, else there is.

Oh. Well, thanks! I'll try to figure out an official size for everything.
